Friendly staff, clean room and room was a generous size with a very comfortable bed.
Very good choice for breakfast, although I decided to have the full English breakfast on both mornings (!) and it filled me up for the day.
Only very minor negative was some noise issues, but only to be expected in a popular public house and an old building.
I would happily stay here again.

The room is on the first floor above a busy pub. Was worried about noise but got to sleep quickly. The building dates back to the 1930’s with many period features, I liked the fact it wasn’t spoiled although it looked tired on our approach to the room. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and the linen good quality. We The shower room the best we had experienced throughout our weeks tour. There was no one around when we left at 8.30. We thought the breakfast menu looked better than previous hotels but we decided to eat later as we had a long day ahead.

Contractors' hotel, and you can smell it as you venture up to your rooms. room 112 more water came out of the shower hose then the shower head!

We had a really nice 3 course set meal which was on the lunch menu here. All the food was delicious and freshly cooked. We would definitely recommend.

My sister and I had a wonderful time at this hotel and we will definitely be staying there again when we visit our Dad and step mum.
It is located near their home and the staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean, well maintained and spacious. We loved the atmosphere of the place and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend this Railway Inn Hornchurch as a great place to stay.

Great; free overnight car parking, the friendly welcome when checking in, being shown to my room and a clean tidy room.
Not so great; the portion sizes on your menu. I ordered the shepherds pie which was tiny. The bowl it's served in was for serving nibbles at a party. It was tasty but not memorable and just very very small for over £10! I paid nearly £24 for a starter a main and pint! I was going to have a dessert but decided not to because I was worried I'd be paying £6 for a scoop of ice cream. If I stay again, I'll walk over the road and get a kebab. The bathroom was teeny tiny and you have to do a short tango with the door to get in and out. A sliding door would solve your problem there. The portable fan in the room needs cleaning.

Everything was really great! The room was nice with a comfortable bed and big and modern bathroom. Excellent cleaning daily. Staff was always happy to help and made a really good impression. The pub downstairs where also very friendly at had a cozy atmosphere and fun variety of evening themes. Good prices for food and drinks and again friendly service at the bar.
It was also nice to see a how diverse the staff was. Usually you see only one kind of people in such staff. Here it felt like everyone was welcome. That also reflected on the guests, since you could see that they too had a good span in variety. Opening hours, times for check out and everything was just as I like it. Thank you!

The whole hotel part of the building is in need of a major makeover. Our room had water marks on the ceiling and walls with the plaster blown. The ceiling lining paper is peeling. The carpet was not very clean when a large number of stains. The shower panel is too short meaning the floor gets wet. The plaster on the stairwell walls appears to be blowing making the paper bubble . Three of the four meals we had were poor.
Plus point, friendly staff.

Hadn't used this place for ages.
Had been out for the day,got off the train
and went for a very pleasant drink. Nice friendly atmosphere,didn't eat as it wasn't necessary
so can't pass comment on food. Very nice
place.
